Taken on a very cold and breezy October morning 2012.
This is a digitally blended image using elements from 5 of 9 manual exposures ranging from 0.5 secs to 120 seconds at f5.6 .
Many masks and layers were used to bring in the appropriate parts of the other images in order to ensure I had a full dynamic range in the image (within self-imposed artistic boundaries).
Overall I guess I must have spent 2 to 3 hours on this image over the course of 2 to 3 days.
One of the lessons I have learned ove the time I have been doing this sort of thing (12 months) is not to rush to publish. So many times I have produced an image and rushed to upload only to discover at some later stage that actually it is not really as good as I thought it was at the time I was processing it.
