Shot late evening on June 28th after the sun had set - the 'Blue Hour'. This is Godmanchester in the Huntingdonshire district of Cambridgeshire - originally chartered in 1212, but there is evidence to suggest there has been a settlement there for over 2000 years.

The Blue Hour in Godmanchester

Down by the Riverside
A beautiful (ish) morning in St Ives Cambs today (23 June 2012). Sun rise was at 04:40 which is a little hard to manage, but well worth it considering that the the sun is particularly big in the sky at this time of year giving some spectacular shots.

A Quiet Street In Venice
Just 5 minutes off the beaten track near St Mark's Square, there is a little corner of Venice largely unspoilt by the hoards of tourists, and where many locals seem to live and frequent. This is a shot from that area on a 'busy' June day.

Venetian Carnival Masks
When shopping in Venice, it seems like every other shop is dedicated to selling Venetian carnival masks and costumes.
This is a photo of the shop window of one of the better ones - the quality of craftsmanship was outstanding.

"Blue Hour" on the River Cam (HDR)
The River Cam in Cambridge is full of canal boats, rowing boats, and punts. A pretty busy waterway that can make for some interesting photos.
The sky on the morning this was shot (21 April 2012) was particularly photo friendly in the blue hour before sunrise. The sunrise itself was magnificent with a huge fireball in the sky, and I managed to get some decent shots of that also which I will post up another day.
3 exposures blended together, processed in PS5 with Nik tools. But largely this is what the scene was like but rather darker.

A photo worth getting shot for (HDR)
Of course, as we all know, farmers do not like people trespassing on their fields. But this was one place I really wanted to shoot, even if it meant getting shot! Thankfully, I think he overslept that day, and I am still alive to tell the tale.
